One of the most exciting things we do at Rapier Electronics is partner with local aerospace contractors and government organisations to build electronic assemblies and subsystems for spacecraft.
We are very proud to have assembled the circuit boards for Australia’s CubeSat satellites right here in Adelaide, as part of the QB50 International Program.
Our role in spacecraft projects
- We work closely with customers and designers throughout the development stages to produce engineering models and prototype units.
- We fine-tune the designs to make sure they operate reliably under the harshest space travel conditions.
- Once approved, our staff build high-quality flight models using only the best and highest performing materials.

About the QB50 International Program
The QB50 project was a program to launch 50 CubeSats to take the most extensive measurements of the lower thermosphere (200–380 kilometres) ever collected.
A CubeSat is a small, block-shaped satellite only 10 centimetres cubed and about 1.3 kilograms in weight. It is lighter and smaller than a regular satellite, and much cheaper to send into space.
